If you think about it, Will Smith has made it big in EVERY part of the entertainment industry: music, TV, and movies. We've all grown to love and adore his charisma as the goofy kid in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." And who can forget the scene where he plays Chris Gardner in "Pursuit of Happyness" when he locks himself in the bathroom of a subway, holding his own child in his hand... crying. And finally, anyone remember not only the movie Men in Black, but the Song "Men in Black?"He's done it all- from serious to funny... from music to TV to movies.
It's not everyday seeing someone who's vastly successful in any industry talk about his beliefs in life. He was successful at a young age, and it's always been growing.
Where I'm at right now, I hope to play in front of live audiences, real fans, that WANT to hear me around the country, around the world. Maybe I'm just crazy. Bleh.
It was Fall of '08, my sophomore year of college when I felt everyone's eyes just fall onto me in front of the stage of the student center. I was the only one up on stage; No band... not even a music teacher like in high school... just me and my keyboard. The lights casted a shadow on the entire audience, but I could still feel everyone's presence focused on me as I walked up the steps, brought my piano and soundchecked. My hands couldn't stop shaking and the last words I remember before I started playing were, "Don't mess up." Like taking the first plunge from the high dive, mentally and physically, I dove in. As I played my first note... a feeling of calmn excitement got a hold of me and then something I did not expect, a feeling. It's so hard to describe, but connection is the best word to describe it; an emotional connection that's just underneath the song where we're both hanging onto every word, every sound.
First song I ever played live. And first song I ever learned to sing and play at the same time.
I've played at some shows or there were some songs that didn't have the same effect. It sucks.
Anways, I just started a Youtube page this summer, so follow my journey there too plz =)
